Kacapi is a zither-like Sundanese musical instrument played as the main accompanying instrument in the Tembang Sunda (Sundanese Song), Kacapi Suling, recitation of Cerita Pantun (versified stories) or an additional instrument in Gamelan Degung performance.
The word kacapi in Sundanese also refers to santol tree, from which the zither instrument was believed to be originally made.
Tanah Air (literally: Land Water) is one of the names with which we, Indonesians, call our beloved country. This reflects our understanding that our country is an archipelagic nation, one that consists of thousands of islands and a number of different seas. With more than 17,500 islands and stretching over three time zones, it is arguably the largest archipelagic nation in the world.
The following is the lyric of the song whose video is posted here. The song was composed by Ibu Soed and entitled "Tanah Airku" (My Country). The English translation is mine.
Tanah air ku tidak kulupakan (My country I do not forget)
Kan terkenang selama hidupku ([I] will always remember you all my life)
Biarpun saya pergi jauh (No matter how far I go)
Tidakkan hilang dari kalbu (You will never fade from my heart)
Tanah ku yang kucintai (My beloved land)
Engkau kuhargai (I revere you)
Walaupun banyak negeri kujalani (No matter how many lands I have traveled)
yang mahsyur permai dikata orang (glorious and scenic people say)
Tetapi kampung dan rumahku (But my country and home)
Disanalah ku merasa senang (It is there that I find happiness)
Tanahku tak kulupakan (My land I do not forget)
Engkau kubanggakan (You are my pride)
Tanah airku tidak kulupakan (My country I do not forget)
Kan terkenang selama hidupku ([I] will always remember you all my life)
Biarpun saya pergi jauh (No matter how far I go)
Tidakkan hilang dari kalbu (You will never fade from my heart)
Tanah ku yang kucintai (My beloved land)
Engkau kuhargai (I revere you)
